Welcome to G Street Fabrics!
In 1942, David Greenzaid, father and grandfather of the current
owners, started G Street Fabrics on G Street in northwest Washington, D.C.
The store quickly became a landmark in the D.C. area and was a popular place
for workers to spend lunch hours searching for career-wear fabrics and for
diplomats and dignitaries to seek couture fabrics to replicate garments seen
in Paris and New York.
Over the years the flagship store grew and expanded and was moved to
Rockville, Maryland in 1983. A second store opened in Centreville, Virginia
in 1994 and a third store in Falls Church, Virginia in 1999.
In addition to selling quality apparel and quilting fabrics, G
Street Fabrics offers a wide range of sewing-related products, including
Bernina® sewing machines, several unique lines of sewing patterns, sewing
books and an extensive selection of notions, buttons and trims. The Home
Decorating Department is a virtual "store within a store" and offers
numerous custom labor services in addition to an array of beautiful fabrics.
Along with unique merchandise G Street Fabrics is committed to
providing superior customer service and maintains a reputation for friendly,
professional and knowledgeable Sales Associates.
